This past weekend I took my Clarendon Scholars on a retreat up to New Hampshire. I was nervous, excited, and anxious to see what the weekend would hold. I have had a descent amount of interaction with most of them but we have not spent a large chunk of time together.
It's amazing what different surroundings can do for a group. I can't say it was anything that I did at all, but God was moving throughout the weekend within our group. From amazing worship, to laughter and organic conversations and relationships being built. I could have not asked for anything better to happen from a retreat. The value of something like this is priceless.
Physically I am exhausted, but spiritually and mentally I am at peace. I went to bed on Saturday night and thought, "wow, I love my job. I was born to do this." Have you ever had one of those moments where everything makes sense? You realize the journey that God has taken you through and every little intricacy and turn has led you to that exact point in time, where for a split second it all makes sense.
These moments don't happen a lot so my recommendation is that you relish in it for as long as the buzz of that feeling lasts. Soon enough I'm sure I will feel the brokenness of the world and reality will hit me, but for now I am very thankful for an amazing retreat.
